CM Punk has dropped the mic once again but this time only after dropping a huge hint of his return to WWE. It was always a delight to watch Punk wrestling live on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown carrying his straight-edge and anti-establishment charisma to the ring every week. But in 2014 the inevitable happened when the former WWE Superstar left the company citing alleged mistreatment.
Since then, fans have been speculating actively, if and when the “Best in the world” will ever walk down the ramp and enter the ring. Punk has on many occasions denied to return to professional wrestling. However, his current role as WWE backstage analyst has led to many new questions of his comeback. And maybe, for the first time, the Cookie Master dropped the biggest hint ever.
On May 27th FITE TV had conducted a Twitter poll asking fans about their best CM Punk moment. To this, the ‘voice of the voiceless’ replied: “TBD” (to be decided). This was enough to send the fans into a frenzy.
As per the Essentially Sports report, he had earlier declared that the only thing which could get him back into the WWE ring would be the prospect of having a match with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Rey Mysterio or Will Ospreay.
Punk has had epic rivalries with the first three superstars but he has never faced the Aerial Assassin. Therefore, a wrestling match lives between the two would undoubtedly be a high-flying business for fans.
