WWE defiant, tapings to continue despite over 2 dozen Covid19 positive cases

WWE has been hit hard by coronavirus but the company has decided to keep the show running. Showing defiance and utter neglect of the current health crisis, the World’s biggest wrestling company WWE has opted to continue tapings of WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT. On Thursday it was revealed that more than two dozen positive WWE employees, wrestlers and professional staff have tested positive.

Due to the ongoing crisis, big stars like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns have decided to stay at home until the pandemic ends.

The year has been tough for the sporting world and WWE has been no alien to the experience.

WWE News: Big names falls prey to COVID-19

WWE has been rocked by reports of multiple positive coronavirus tests. WWE bigwigs, Kayla Braxton, Renee Young and Adam Pearce all confirm positive coronavirus tests.
Earlier, this week, famous WWE anchor Renee Young had confirmed that she has been infected. She took to Twitter and said, “Man. What a few days. My show gets cancelled and I get COVID. Wear your masks and wash your hands. Stay safe, everyone”.

Another casualty to the virus was Kyla Braxton. The WWE announcer too was tested positive. Braxton took to Twitter to reveal her condition but she soon deactivated her account possibly owing to cyberbullying after a select few fans started accusing Braxton of carelessness.

“Was keeping it quiet but since everyone else is sharing, I feel like it is my responsibility to share this PSA: YOU CAN GET COVID-19 MORE THAN ONCE! I had it back in early March and then thought I was invincible after I recovered. Not true. Don’t be dumb like me,” Braxton had tweeted before, deactivating her account.

WWE News: Will the company postpone its upcoming WWE Extreme Rules 2020?

As things currently stand, it is hard to think that WWE Extreme Rules will be deferred. And the news of viewership ratings of WWE Raw and Smackdown bears testament to the claim. WWE’s Monday Night Raw viewership hovered around the 1.9 million marks for the second consecutive week, coming in at an average of 1.92 million across the show’s three hours. Although it was slightly low than their previous week’s 1.94 million, it is good taking into account the absence of big names.

WWE Extreme Rules 2020 will be held next month on July 19.
