WWE News: WWE often conducts storylines that get dragged to a long way with a bigger pay-off in the future. One such angle which could be in-store for the WWE Universe is Seth Rollins vs Rey Mysterio storyline for the WWE Extreme Rules 2020.
WWE News: How did Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins rivalry begin?
As Seth Rollins was about to host the ceremony for the legendary superstar. When he got to know that Rey Mysterio was going to ‘retire’. Meanwhile, speculation was that Rey Mysterio’s son, Dominick could have made his debut during this segment. But nothing happened like that retirement ceremony was just a hoax and we got the promo from ‘Master of 619’ and Dominick.
The Monday Night Messiah and Mysterio faced each other in a tag-team match. While Aleister Black was paired with Mysterio, Rollins teamed up with Murphy. The team of Black and Mysterio won by disqualification when Rollins pulled the ‘Ultimate Underdog’ off the apron.
However, things went off hands when amid the assault, Mysterio’s eye was severely injured when Rollins forced his face onto the steel steps.
Later on, he had sent out a message to Rollins dropping a hint of return. He said,” You are going to pay for what you did to me and what you put my family through”.
WWE News: Seth Rollins mocks Mysterio’s son and family
The rivalry got more agitated when Seth Rollins mocked Mysterio and his son Dominick. The latter could not handle the insult of his family and vowed vengeance. He and Mysterio attacked Rollins for his actions.
WWE Extreme Rules 2020: Seth Rollins vs Rey Mysterio in July?
As things now stand, both the wrestlers may settle it down at WWE Extreme Rules which will be held in July. There are two possibilities — first, it could be Rey Mysterio vs Seth Rollins in a single match or it could be a six-way match up between Mysterio, Black and Dominick vs Rollins, Austin Theory and Murphy.
For Mysterio, his family’s reputation is at stake, as for Rollins beating Mysterio would be enough to show the entire WWE Raw why he is the Monday Night Messiah.
