The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation has postponed its youth championship in the wake of coronavirus outbreak. Keeping in line with the United World Wrestling (UWW), AWF has postponed the tournament which was originally scheduled to be held in May. The announcement was made via an Instagram post. The new dates for the competition are yet to be decided.

Dear wrestlers and wrestling fans, recently there have been frequent questions about when the Azerbaijani championship for teenagers and youth. It should be noted that the competition was scheduled for May before the spread of the Covid-19 virus. However, the pandemic caused the postponement of all tournaments. As the quarantine regime continues, gyms are also closed for group training. Besides, UWW has postponed all competitions scheduled for July 1. In short, uncertainty continues. Due to these reasons, the date of the Azerbaijani championship has not been determined yet.
