Ritu Phogat, the former Commonwealth gold medallist, triumphed over her South Korean opponent Kim Nam-hee in her debut MMA bout. After the gruelling training schedules in Singapore, Ritu is back at her home in India for a few days. She is now the MMA athlete but the love for wrestling cant go away easily that is the reason she decided to have a wrestling training session with her elder sister Babita Phogat. Watch the video.
Earlier Ritu won her debut bout against the Korean in just over 3 minutes to launch her MMA career. Phogat won the bout by technical knockout in the first round of the Atom-weight (52 kg) contest at One Championship’s Age of Dragons event in Beijing, China.
The Indian wrestler turned MMA athlete has participated in events such as the Wrestling World Championships, Commonwealth Wrestling Championships, Asian Wrestling Championships, Yasar Dogu International for India. Ritu who joined EVOLVE MMA in February has been learning the arts of Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since last 9 months.
