 “I am taken aback by the decision,” says Sakshi Malik who has been omitted from the Arjuna award list. The Sports Ministry on Friday decided against bestowing the Olympic medallist with the sports honour as she has already won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. Questioning the unprecedented decision, Sakshi said, “When I won the Khel Ratna in 2016, it was purely on my achievement.
2) Cuba likely to resume competitions by December

Cuban wrestling, in its two modalities, freestyle and Greco-Roman, will close out 2020 with tournaments for its top athletes, if the coronavirus health emergency allows.

7) Vinesh Phogat pulls out of national camp

Vinesh Phogat has decided to skip the national camp citing covid-19 fear. According to IANS report, the wrestler said she has requested the federation to let her train alone and be exempted from the camp. She will continue to train at her home in Bhiwani as she has refused to attend the national camp, starting from September 1 in Lucknow.
